South African cinsault is renowned for. The old bush vines from which the grapes are picked combined with ten months in a barrel, create a healthy concentration of red fruits and soft tannins. New Theory (previously Nouveau) is the brainchild of Thom and Charles Bradley who set the project up to work with South African winemakers to choose the best fruit possible and produce fresh expressions of low–intervention wine. For them, it's all about craft with all the pairs wines being small-batch, so they can continue to experiment and make interesting juice. After a very enjoyable, no-expense-spared sourcing trip to Spain to find this wine, our Finance Director took issue with a few of the restaurant expenses we presented to him upon our return. To keep him sweet we said we’d make a wine in his name. Sadly, “Brian the Accountant” didn’t quite have the ring to it that we were looking for, so we settled on this suitable alternative: The Bean Counter IIntense ruby red in colour with powerful concentrated red fruit nose. Some floral notes on the palate with ripe strawberries giving way to darker fruits, moccha notes and soft ripe tannins. Good fresh acidity for excellent balance and a long, elegant finish. Ver menos
