Az India Pale Ale (IPA) az újhullámos kisüzemi sörfőzés legmeghatározóbb stílusa, eredete egészen az indiai angol gyarmatosításig nyúl vissza. A kereskedők úgy szerették volna optimalizálni a hosszú és drága hajóutat, hogy erősebb és több komló felhasználásával készült, így keserűbb, testesebb, ízesebb, ráadásul tartósabb söröket főznek, majd ezeket helyben, már felvizezett formában kínálják. Ezt gyakran az állomásozó katonák nem várták meg és csapra verték a jóval kedvesebb főzeteket. Ez a történet szolgált alapul az amerikai kisüzemi sörforradalom elindulásához nagyjából az 1980-as években, ekkor kezdtek a főzdék hasonló stílusban, rendkívül izgalmas komlóhangsúlyos, ezáltal illatos és keserű söröket főzni.

One of the questions we’re asked most frequently when out at events is, ‘Why Magic Rock? Where does the name come from?’
When Rich Burhouse and Stuart Ross were planning the brewery back in 2010 the question of where to establish the brewing operations was never in doubt. Rich was lucky that the family business where he was was working at the time, had an unused outbuilding that with a bit of imagination and the correct permissions could be used to house a small brewery.
Rich spent around 3 months thinking of what to call the brewery, racking his for something original. At the time, he was obsessed with US craft beer, the idiosyncratic names and branding which accompanied it. First and foremost he wanted to pick a name that was unusual and memorable to new customers. He also didn’t want to just make a name up, it had to have a basis in reality and mean something personally to him.
So, why Magic Rock? The family business Rich worked in was established in the 1960’s and is an importer and wholesaler of Crystals, Minerals, semi-precious Jewellery and Natural gifts. If you’ve ever visited the seaside and been pestered by your kids, nephews and/or nieces into buying a little bag of fool’s gold or a fossil or gemstone necklace, there’s a fairly high probability that it came from the family business.

Ein herrlich saftiges IPA, farblich irgendwo zwischen dunkelgelb und hellorange, erhält es durch die Zugabe von Weizenmalz außerdem eine schöne Trübung und eine relativ stabile Schaumkrone. Erfrischend tropisch im Geruch, ist das Bier geschmacklich orangig und leicht grasig. Durch die Verwendung von dem speziell dafür entwickelten Enzym Brewers Clarex wird dem Gersten-und Weizenmalz das Gluten entzogen, sodass es auch Bierliebhaber, die mit Gluten Probleme haben, genießen können! Richard Burhouse und Brauer Stuart Ross gründeten 2011 die Magic Rock Brewing Brauerei in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire (England).

Magic Rock Brewing orientieren sich an der blühenden Craft Beer Kultur in den Vereinigten Staaten und wollen mit modernem Design und innovativen Bieren die Craft Beer Bewegung in England und Europa anstoßen.
Mittlerweile werden die Biere in über 25 Länder weltweit exportiert und die Brauerei hat 35 Mitarbeiter angestellt. Magic Rock Brewing Biere werden ausschließlich in Dosen abgefüllt, was den hopfenbetonten Bieren sehr entgegen kommt!
