Irland ist für sein legendäres Bier weltbekannt. Es zeichnet sich durch einen ganz besonderen Geschmack aus. 1759 gründete Arthur Guinness die Brauerei in Dublin. Seit dieser Zeit wurden auf der ganzen Welt Guinness-Brauereien gebaut. Die Rezepte sind unterschiedlich in diversen Länder. Eigentümer der Guinness Brauerei ist der Diageo-Getränkekonzern in London. In Deutschland wird das Bier von der Radeberger vertrieben.
Faßbier: Guinness Draught wird mit einem Gemisch aus 30% Kohlensäure und 70% Stickstoff gezapft, wodurch das Bier einen eigenen Geschmack erhält und der Schaum cremiger und haltbarer wird, während die Biere üblicherweise nur mit Kohlensäure gezapft werden.
Dosen: In den Dosen ist ein „ floating widget“, das erst beim Öffnen der Dose das Gas frei gibt und somit das Bier wie frisch gezapft schmeckt.
Das Extra Stout ist sehr dunkel, fast schwarz, und sein Schaum karamellfarbig. Der Geruch erinnert an Malzkaffee, im Antrunk dominiert das kräftige Hopfenaroma. Intensives Kaffeearoma erfüllt den Gaumen, und im Nachtrunk folgt eine herbe Fruchtnote. Wenn sie ein intensives Geschmackserlebnis haben möchten, dann müssen sie Guinness probieren !
