GNB has won numerous Gold and Silver medals over the years, including accolades at World Beer Cup, GABF, Best of Craft Beer Awards, and Oregon Beer Awards, as well as the 2018 #1 IPA in America from Paste Magazine. GN has 5 taprooms in the Pacific Northwest: @greatnotionalberta , @greatnotionnw and @greatnotionbeaverton in Portland and @greatnotionballard (opening EOY 2020) and @greatnotiongeorgetown in Seattle. We sell our beer direct to beer drinkers from our own taprooms in draft and cans to-go.
Our barrel program offers award-winning American sour ales aged for 9-24 months in oak barrels. A portion of our sour ales are blended with Oregon fruit like pinot noir grapes, blueberries, strawberries, and cherries. Freshly emptied Bourbon barrels age our imperial stouts on ingredients like roasted coffee, vanilla beans, chocolate, and maple syrup.
Our brewpubs serve creative Northwest food delicacies such as flavorful seafood dishes, award-winning fried chicken sandwiches, house-smoked BBQ, imperial kale caeser salads and more. When it comes to brewing creative craft beer, we realize the immense talent within this city. We’ve been inspired by many, in Portland and beyond. We wouldn’t be here without the brewers who came before us, who took chances, tried something new, and shared their experience.
