This massive Imperial Stout delivers an overwhelming sensory experience born of its 17% ABV and extended aging in Margaux red wine barrels. The pour is viscous and jet-black, releasing a potent aroma of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and deep vinous notes of black currant and toasted oak. On the palate, a thick, velvety texture carries intense flavors of charred malt and black licorice, balanced by the elegant, tannic complexity of the Chateaux Margaux wood. The finish is long and warming, weaving together dark fruit esters and a refined, spirit-like heat that reflects its Flanders origins and collaborative craftsmanship.

Appearance. SRM 40+; jet black and completely opaque. It pours with a thick, deep tan head that shows moderate retention, eventually fading to a persistent rim. High viscosity is evident through heavy legs clinging to the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by rich roasted malt scents of dark chocolate, cocoa, and tar, layered with prominent vinous notes of red wine and oak. Significant esters suggest dried figs, prunes, and black currants. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth underpins the profile, alongside very low earthy hop notes.

Taste. Initial impression is one of immense power and complexity. Deep roasted flavors of bittersweet chocolate and black coffee meld with the dark fruit character of raisins and plums. The Margaux barrel influence introduces a dry, wood-aged sophistication and berry-like acidity. Bitterness is high but balanced by massive malt body, leading to a lingering, warming, and slightly vinous finish.

Mouthfeel. Full and exceptionally viscous; a chewy and luscious texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the creamy feel. Significant alcohol warmth is present and warming without being harsh or solventy.
