This mid-strength session ale honors the 1888 heritage of the Lithgow Brewery with a bright, approachable profile. Despite its sessionable gravity, it delivers the hallmark qualities of an American Pale Ale, featuring a clean malt bill that allows vibrant New World hops to shine. Expect a burst of citrus and subtle floral notes supported by a lean, bready malt foundation. Taste. The initial impression is crisp and hop-forward, led by flavors of grapefruit and lemon peel. A light, crackery malt base provides just enough support to prevent a thin profile without adding significant sweetness. Bitterness is moderate, providing a clean counterpoint to the hop fruitiness. The finish is dry and clean with a short, refreshing aftertaste of citrus rind.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body, consistent with its session strength. High carbonation provides a lively, refreshing prickle on the tongue. No alcohol warmth at 3.3% ABV. Smooth texture with no detectable astringency.
