Zeta Screech reinterprets the German Pils through a modern, hazy lens, delivering a vibrant sensory experience described as an oda al cítrico. Utilizing a combination of Citra, Cryo Citra, and Azacca hops, the profile bursts with assertive notes of lime, lemon, grapefruit, and mandarin. This citrus intensity is layered over tropical depths of mango and pineapple, creating a sensory experience reminiscent of a contemporary IPA while maintaining lager drinkability. Beneath the fruit-forward hop explosion lies the clean, doughy malt foundation of a traditional lager, finishing with a crisp, refreshing snap. It is a deceptively complex profile that marries bottom-fermentation precision with high-impact hop aromatics.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (SRM 3-4) with a pronounced, persistent haze. Features a creamy, long-lasting white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring vivid lime, grapefruit, and mandarin orange. Secondary notes of mango and pineapple from the Citra and Azacca hops. Low grainy, cracker-like malt sweetness provides a clean background. Clean fermentation profile with no yeast-derived esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial cracker-like malt flavor is rapidly overtaken by a citrus and tropical fruit punch. Mid-palate flavors of lemon peel and pineapple transition into a firm, lingering bitterness. The finish is dry and crisp, typical of the style, but with a persistent resinous and fruity aftertaste. Clean and well-attenuated.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a slight creaminess from the haze. Moderate to high carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth from the 6.5% ABV. Crisp and refreshing without any astringency.
