Zeta Farrell is a luminous and contemporary interpretation of a German Pils, elevated by an intensive, juicy citrus profile. This sparkling golden lager bursts with a sensory character reminiscent of a warehouse full of lemons, driven by a massive 30 g/l hopping rate of Cascade, Citra, and Idaho 7. The addition of lime zest sharpens the citric edge, providing an immaculate, zesty brightness that dances over a clean, crackery malt base. While the foundation remains dry and crisp, the New World hops transform the traditional floral profile into a vibrant, fruit-forward experience that remains refreshing despite its slightly elevated strength.
Appearance. Brilliant, deep gold color (4 SRM) with sparkling clarity. Pours with a creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves fine, persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity citrus-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of fresh lemon peel, lime zest, and grapefruit. The hop character is dominant, showcasing the tropical facets of Citra and Idaho 7 alongside the floral-citrus spray of Cascade. A low, clean, grainy-sweet pilsner malt aroma provides a subtle cracker-like foundation. Fermentation is immaculate and neutral.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, juicy wave of lemon and lime. The pilsner malt flavor is low, providing a crisp, doughy substrate that is quickly overcome by a firm hop bitterness. Hop flavors mirror the aroma, delivering punchy citrus and light resinous notes. The balance is decidedly bitter and dry, leading into a very clean, crisp finish with a lingering citric tartness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that creates a sparkling, refreshing sensation. The 6.2% ABV is well-integrated, providing only a light, pleasant warmth. Crisp and clean without any harshness or astringency.
