This Double IPA presents an exuberant sensory profile defined by a heavy-handed application of Idaho 7, Citra, HBC 630, and Azacca hops. The result is an intense citrus-forward experience, lead by bright notes of orange, grapefruit, and lemon zest. Underneath the citrus layer, succulent tropical depths of mango, papaya, and pineapple emerge from the blend of hops, tied together by a subtle, clean resinous finish. Despite its robust 8% ABV, the beer remains remarkably drinkable, offering a creamy, lush mouthfeel and a well-balanced bitterness. It captures a modern, hazy evolution of the style, focusing on hop saturation and aromatic complexity over harshness.
Appearance. Pours a hazy, turbid pale gold to light orange (SRM 6-8). Topped by a dense, persistent, off-white head that leaves thick lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense hop-derived citrus notes of grapefruit, orange, and lemon peel dominate. Secondary aromatics include a high intensity of tropical fruit like mango and papaya, with a faint, clean resinous undertone and a neutral, grainy malt background.
Taste. High hop flavor intensity featuring bright citrus and lush tropical fruits (pineapple, mango). The bitterness is moderately high but smooth and never harsh. Malt character is low and supportive, providing a neutral canvas. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering hoppy and slightly resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. Features a restrained, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any hop-derived astringency.
