This Imperial Stout presents an opulent, midnight-black profile, enriched by the creamy addition of oats. The sensory experience is dominated by deep layers of bittersweet cacao and aromatic vanilla, which soften the intense roasted grain character. Warm, spicy notes of cinnamon weave through the aroma and palate, while the inclusion of cayenne pepper provides a distinct, lingering heat that complements the natural alcohol warmth. Complex dark fruit esters emerge as the beer breathes, balancing the aggressive roast. It is a harmonious, decadent collaboration that marries dessert-like sweetness with a bold, spicy, and lingering finish.
Appearance. Color is jet black (SRM 40) and completely opaque. It supports a dense, persistent deep tan head with excellent lacing. High viscosity is evident in the visible legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee, and earthy cacao. Prominent notes of cinnamon and sweet vanilla are layered over background esters of raisins and prunes. A subtle, sharp hint of pepper heat is perceptible alongside a smooth alcohol presence.
