Yria Deva is a contemporary expression of a Dry Mead, artfully infused with the vibrant aromatics of a generous dry-hopping. The sensory experience is defined by a crisp, bone-dry profile that elevates the delicate floral nuances of the honey base. Expect an assertive hop presence that bridges the gap between traditional mead and craft ale, offering layers of resinous pine and bright citrus zest that evoke the 'deep green sea' of its namesake. At 9% ABV, it carries a sophisticated, well-integrated warmth that supports the lean structure, finishing remarkably clean with a lingering herbal complexity and a refreshing, saline-like minerality.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (SRM 2-3); brilliant clarity with a polished shimmer. If carbonated, it features a brief, white effervescent head that dissipates quickly; otherwise, it presents as a still or petillant liquid with no lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop intensity featuring notes of grapefruit peel, fresh pine needles, and crushed herbs. Beneath the hops, a clean but distinct honey character emerges with hints of wildflower and clover. Fermentation is exceptionally clean, devoid of heavy esters or phenols, with a subtle, pleasant hint of ethanol.
