Ray’s IPA is a vibrant New England Style IPA that prioritizes a lush, fruit-forward experience. The combination of Citra and Centennial hops creates a dense aromatic profile of mango, passionfruit, and bright grapefruit. Its hazy, straw-colored body suggests a soft, pillowy texture, while the palate is dominated by juicy stone fruit and tropical notes. A restrained bitterness allows the hop oils to shine, supported by a clean, bready malt backbone. This Hazy IPA finishes smooth and refreshing, emphasizing a juicy drinkability with complex layers of citrus zest and sweet melon that linger pleasantly on the tongue.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4-6 SRM) with an opaque, uniform haze and a characteristic shine. Topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with dominant notes of mango, passionfruit, and lime from the Citra, complemented by Centennial's floral and lemon zest character. Background notes of neutral, bready malt and subtle fruity esters; no caramel or toast.
Taste. Initial burst of juicy tropical fruit and stone fruit flavor, including peach and apricot. High hop flavor consistent with the aroma, supported by a low, grainy malt sweetness. Bitterness is moderate but soft, balancing the fuller body without harshness. Finishes off-dry and smooth with a lingering citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky texture and no astringency. Carbonation is moderate. Displays a smooth profile with a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
