Thirst Trap is a vibrant Hazy IPA that serves as a sensory canvas for the expressive nature of Nelson Sauvin hops. On the nose and palate, it delivers an intense South Pacific character, characterized by distinctive notes of white grape, succulent mango, and ripe melon, underscored by a bright citrus lift. The 6.5% ABV provides a structural foundation without overshadowing the hop-forward profile. A soft, grainy malt base supports the lush fruitiness, leading to a smooth, low-bitterness finish that maximizes drinkability. This modern interpretation captures the juicy essence of the style with a refined, tropical focus.
Appearance. Deep straw to golden-yellow (4-6 SRM) with a pronounced, uniform haze that creates a luminous glow. It is topped by a thick, rocky, white meringue-like head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma dominated by New Zealand character. Strong notes of white wine grapes, passionfruit, and crushed gooseberry are layered over secondary scents of cantaloupe and lemon zest. The malt presence is low and neutral, providing a light bready or flour-like backdrop. Fermentation esters are fruity but clean, integrating seamlessly with the hop profile.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical fruit, specifically mango and melon, followed by signature white grape flavor. Malt flavor is low, contributing a soft, grainy sweetness that balances a moderate hop bitterness. The bitterness is present but feels restrained and smooth, never becoming harsh or resinous. The finish is off-dry and clean, leaving a lingering impression of tropical juice and citrus zest.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft and silky texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to the beer’s smooth character without being prickly. There is a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth, but no astringency or harshness from hop matter.
