Yards Brawler is a quintessential Dark Mild that prioritizes malt complexity within a sessionable frame. This deep ruby ale opens with an inviting bouquet of toasted bread and rich caramel. On the palate, a gentle sweetness is defined by layers of biscuit and subtle toffee, reflecting a classic British-inspired malt bill. The hopping is intentionally delicate, providing just enough earthy balance to ensure a clean, smooth finish without distracting from the toast-forward core. Appearance. Rich ruby to mahogany in color (approx. 18-22 SRM). Pours with a moderate, creamy off-white to light tan head that shows fair retention and leaves light lacing. Generally clear.
Aroma. Low to moderate malt-driven intensity featuring notes of toasted grain, light caramel, and a hint of nuttiness. Hop aroma is very low, presenting a faint earthy or floral quality. Clean fermentation with only a whisper of fruity esters.
Taste. Malt-forward initial impression with dominant flavors of toast and sweet caramel. A bready, biscuity foundation supports the mid-palate, while hop bitterness remains low, providing just enough balance to prevent cloying. Hop flavor is minimal.
