This Hazy IPA is an explosive thiol-driven sensory experience, utilizing specialized thiol-releasing yeast to amplify tropical precursors. The hop architecture is intricate, featuring Motueka, Rakau, and Wakatu in a cold whirlpool, with Kohia Motueka and Peacharine added during and after fermentation. The result is a veritable juice party, delivering high-intensity aromas of passionfruit, guava, and blackcurrant. On the palate, Peacharine drives lush stone fruit and ripe peach flavors across a soft, pillowy body. The finish is smooth and low in bitterness, allowing the vibrant New Zealand hop profile to remain the primary focus in this modern, fruit-forward expression.
Appearance. Straw to light orange color (4-6 SRM). Opaque haze with a luminous shine. Persistent, rocky white head with excellent retention and thick, meringue-like lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Explosive tropical fruit notes of passionfruit and guava, followed by sweet stone fruit, ripe peach, and a hint of blackcurrant. Low bready-sweet malt in the background; clean fermentation with subtle banana esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with dominant peach, passionfruit, and guava. Low bready malt flavor provides a neutral foundation. Bitterness is low to medium-low, soft and well-integrated. Finish is off-dry to medium, leaving a lingering impression of tropical nectar without any harshness or hop bite.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, pillowy body with a soft, silky texture. Moderate carbonation. Subtle alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated. No astringency or hop burn.
