Working Title Brew Co Lethal Weapon
This German Pils, a collaboration with My Beer Dealer, reimagines the style through an adventurous hop profile and an unconventional grain bill. The inclusion of Cryo-Citra and Peacharine introduces vibrant layers of passionfruit and stonefruit, while Cryo-Motueka and Cryo-Wai-iti contribute distinctive lime and gooseberry notes. Unlike traditional examples, an infusion of malted oat and spelt provides a unique structure, subtly softening the palate. At 6% ABV, it maintains the expected bitterness and clarity of the style but layers in a dense jungle of New Zealand hop character, resulting in a punchy, tropical-forward lager that remains exceptionally crisp and refreshing.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow; brilliant clarity; features a thick, creamy, long-lasting white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high hop intensity featuring notes of lime citrus, passionfruit, and stonefruit. Low grainy-sweet malt character with a light doughy quality from the oats and spelt. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial grainy malt flavor is quickly overcome by a firm, clean hop bitterness. Pronounced hop flavors of gooseberry, blackcurrant, and lime zest. Finishes very dry and crisp with a lingering bitterness and a touch of minerality in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation. A soft, slightly creamy texture derived from the oat and spelt additions provides a smooth feel while maintaining a refreshing, crisp quality. Subtle alcohol warmth is present.
