This Hazy IPA presents an indulgent, tropical-forward profile driven by a heavy double dry-hopping of Amarillo, Mosaic, Idaho 7, and Talus. A complex grain bill featuring flaked oats and malted oats creates a plush, silken foundation for vibrant layers of orange sherbet, ripe melon, and zesty citrus. Estery notes of banana and passionfruit intermingle with a subtle wink of coconut, while the addition of lactose provides a gentle, creamy sweetness. Despite the lushness, a refined bitterness ensures structure, allowing the elevated alcohol to remain well-integrated through a lingering, fruit-laden finish that emphasizes the modern tropical paradigm.
Appearance. Straw to light amber (5 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze and a luminous shine. It is topped by a thick, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with a dominant tropical hop character featuring mango, passionfruit, and bright orange. The malted oats provide a soft, bready, and slightly doughy background, while lactose adds a faint, creamy sweetness that complements the fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of melon, orange sherbet, and citrus zest. Low to medium-low grainy malt flavor is present, softened by a creamy sweetness. Hop bitterness is moderate—elevated for the sub-style but still smooth—balancing the lactose. The finish is medium-sweet and fruit-forward, leaving a clean impression of tropical juice and a hint of coconut.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably creamy, silken texture and no harshness. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth provides structure to the soft, oaty mouthfeel.
