Dire Wolf is a formidable Imperial Stout that commands attention with its massive sensory presence. This pitch-black liquid reveals a complex landscape of deep-roasted espresso and bittersweet dark chocolate, bolstered by a significant addition of brown sugar that lends a rich caramel undertone. The use of oats provides a signature chewy, velvety texture that coats the palate, carrying the intense 10.8% ABV with integrated, warming grace. Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Crowned by a dense, persistent tan head with excellent lacing and visible viscosity/legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity roast with dominant notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and cocoa. Supporting aromas of caramel and brown sugar provide depth, alongside light esters of dried plums and raisins. Hop aroma is low and earthy.
Taste. Intense flavors of bittersweet chocolate, charred grain, and strong coffee. A rich caramel and brown sugar maltiness provides a sweet counterpoint to an aggressively high bitterness.
