The hop bill featuring Citra, Riwaka, and Krush takes center stage, erupting with an exotic bouquet of juicy pineapple, sun-ripened guava, and elegant white grape. An unexpected nuance of sweet almond provides a sophisticated counterpoint to the intense tropical fruit. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer maintains a streamlined malt backbone and a clean finish, emphasizing high drinkability and a crisp, hop-forward character that defines a contemporary approach to the style. The result is a complex, refreshing, and fruit-forward sensory experience.
Appearance. Gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Persistent, creamy off-white head with fine lacing. Slight haze typical of modern heavily dry-hopped versions.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of pineapple, guava, and tropical fruit. Distinctive vinous white grape and a subtle, unique sweet almond nuance. Neutral, clean grainy malt provides a subtle background, with a very low fruity fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical fruit, specifically guava and pineapple, transitioning into crisp white grape and a hint of almond. Malt flavor is low and neutral, supporting a moderately high, firm bitterness that remains smooth rather than harsh. The finish is remarkably dry and clean for the strength, with a lingering aftertaste of citrus zest and tropical resins.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crisp lift. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but restrained, contributing to high drinkability without astringency.
