Amorous is a vibrant Wild Specialty Beer that showcases Wicked Weed’s mastery of wood-aged fermentation and aggressive hopping. This blend of Brettanomyces and sour barrels creates a complex foundation of funky leather and sharp lactic acidity. The generous addition of American hops bursts through with vivid layers of tropical pineapple and zesty citrus, harmonizing perfectly with the tart base. Notes of toasted oak and earthy hay provide depth, while the bone-dry finish keeps the palate refreshed. Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light amber (6-10 SRM) with a slight haze from the dry-hopping and wild yeast. A moderate, off-white head forms but dissipates relatively quickly into a thin ring, leaving minimal lacing behind.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics. Bright citrus and tropical fruit hop notes lead, followed by a complex funk of horse blanket, hay, and earthy leather from the Brettanomyces. A sharp, lactic tartness is present, complemented by subtle vanillin and toasted oak notes from the barrel aging.

Taste. The initial impression is a sharp, clean lactic acidity balanced by a punch of grapefruit and mango hop flavors. A low bready malt backbone provides minimal support, letting the wild character shine. Funkiness is moderate, offering barnyard and stone fruit notes.
