This Imperial Stout is a decadent, high-gravity masterclass in barrel integration, pouring an opaque, ink-like black with a thick, espresso-colored head. The influence of the 4 Roses Bourbon barrels is immediate, weaving elegant threads of toasted oak, rich vanilla, and spicy rye through a base of bittersweet chocolate and dark-roasted coffee. Notes of dried figs and black currants emerge as it warms, balancing the aggressive roast with a deep, vinous complexity. It offers a velvety, full-bodied experience where the warmth of the bourbon and charred wood provides a lingering, sophisticated finish that stays long after the final sip.

Appearance. Opaque jet black (40+ SRM) with a dense, persistent dark brown head. High viscosity creates prominent legs on the glass when swirled.

Aroma. High intensity featuring rich bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and black licorice. The 4 Roses Bourbon barrels contribute strong notes of vanilla, caramel, and charred oak. Moderate esters reminiscent of raisins and dried plums.

Taste. Initial impression is intensely malty and roasty. Layers of cocoa, dark-roasted coffee, and burnt grain are complemented by bourbon-soaked oak, spicy rye notes, and vanilla. Firm bitterness provides balance against the residual sweetness. Finish is long and warming with a lingering chocolate-covered fruit aftertaste.
