This decadent Imperial Stout pours like ink, immediately releasing a rich bouquet reminiscent of a bakery. At 10.5% ABV, it presents an indulgent sensory profile of molten chocolate brownie and toasted marshmallow, characteristic of a liquid s'mores experience. Distinctive notes of nutty pecan extract weave through layers of dark-roasted malts, providing a savory counterpoint to the sugary sweetness. The high alcohol content is well-integrated, offering a comforting warmth that complements the beer's dense, dessert-like character. Aroma. High intensity with dominant notes of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa, and fudge. Pronounced nutty aromas of pecan and sweet toasted marshmallow. Secondary layers of dark fruit esters, such as raisins and prunes, mingle with a moderate toasted grain scent and a clean, warming alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is intensely sweet and malty, mimicking a chocolate brownie. Mid-palate reveals pecan, graham cracker, and vanilla-like marshmallow flavors. A solid backbone of roasted malt bitterness (approx. 60 IBU) provides essential balance against the sugary adjuncts. The finish is long and luscious, featuring lingering notes of dark chocolate and toasted nuts without being cloying.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the beer's weight. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is noticeable but lacks any harshness or solvent qualities.
