This elegant Munich Dunkel pours with a deep mahogany luster, immediately releasing a complex nose of toasted bread and faint dark chocolate driven by CaraBohemian and Aromatic Malt. The foundation relies on Pilsner and Dark Munich malts to construct a biscuity, deeply rustic base. Thanks to a traditional single-stage decoction, rich melanoidin-rich layers of dry, mellow caramel run throughout, balancing a clean lager profile. The finish is remarkably dry and smooth, avoiding any cloying sweetness, leaving a lingering impression of freshly baked crusts and subtle, earthy continental hops.
Appearance. Deep copper to dark mahogany with ruby-red highlights (20-25 SRM). Topped by a dense, creamy, light tan head with strong retention and lacing. Brilliant clarity.
Aroma. Moderate-to-high aroma intensity dominated by rich toasted bread crust, nutty undertones, and subtle dark chocolate. Clean lager fermentation with no esters. Low spicy, herbal hop aroma.
Taste. Rich initial impression of toasted biscuit and bready malt. Mellow caramel notes and dry cocoa complexity follow. Low herbal, spicy hop flavor. Low-to-moderate hop bitterness keeps the balance malty yet clean. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering toasted crust aftertaste and no harsh roast.
