The extended maturation in Blis maple syrup bourbon barrels has softened the pepper's bite while infusing the beer with rich layers of maple sweetness, charred oak, and toasted marshmallow. Deep roasted malt notes of espresso and dark chocolate provide a robust backbone, harmonizing with dark fruit esters of raisins and prunes. Appearance. SRM 40+; opaque jet black. Dense, creamy dark tan head with moderate retention. High viscosity is apparent through prominent legs on the glass.
