This potent Double IPA exudes a saturated tropical and citrus profile. Bright ribbons of pineapple and mango from El Dorado and Azacca hops dominate the nose, seamlessly melding with the intense grapefruit and dank blueberry characteristics of Citra and Mosaic. A pale gold body carries a soft, velvety texture that balances the heavy hop saturation, while a well-integrated, smooth alcohol warmth supports the intense hop flavors. It finishes remarkably clean and dry, with a lingering resinous bitterness that invites another sip, showcasing the brewer's skill in taming a massive strength.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange-copper with a slight, yeast-derived haze typical of heavy dry-hopping. It is crowned by a dense, persistent, off-white head that leaves thick bands of lacing.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma bursting with ripe tropical fruits like pineapple and mango, citrus like sweet orange and grapefruit, and stone fruit, backed by light resinous pine. Malt is low and neutral, presenting as light cracker, with a clean fermentation profile and a subtle, smooth alcohol note.
Taste. An immediate explosion of sweet tropical fruit, tangerine, and soft pine hop flavors. Medium-high bitterness is firm but smooth, never harsh. A clean, minimal crackery malt profile supports the hops. The balance is heavily hop-forward, leading to a medium-dry finish with a lingering, clean resinous bitterness and a touch of warming alcohol.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, lacking any hot or solventy character. Minimal hop-derived astringency.
