This American Brown Ale is a sophisticated, malt-forward experience built on a complex grain bill of 2-Row, Special Roast, Wheat, Caramel, and Chocolate malts. It leads with deeply layered sensory cues of roasty caramel, molasses, and dark cocoa, providing a rich, toasty foundation. The addition of Magnum and Liberty hops offers a crucial yet disciplined counterpoint, infusing the profile with subtle earthy and spicy nuances that balance the residual sweetness. The house yeast ensures a clean fermentation, allowing the intricate nutty and toasted bread characters to remain front and center through a harmonious, medium-dry finish.
Appearance.Deep chestnut to dark mahogany brown (20–30 SRM). Clear with a moderate, persistent light tan head that leaves fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma.Moderate to high malty-rich intensity featuring prominent notes of chocolate, toasted nuts, and dark caramel. A low, refined hop aroma presents as earthy and slightly herbal. Clean fermentation profile with negligible fruity esters.
Taste.Initial malty sweetness gives way to complex layers of baker's chocolate, molasses, and toasted grain. Medium bitterness balances the rich malt profile without becoming aggressive. Hop flavors are low and earthy, complementing the darker grains. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering toasty and caramelly aftertaste.
Mouthfeel.Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture aided by the wheat malt. Moderate carbonation. Alcohol presence is well-integrated and provides only a very light, pleasant warmth.
