Celebrating West Coast Brewing’s sixth anniversary, Hop Dance is a high-carbonation, sessionable American Lager designed for ultimate refreshment. Single dry-hopped with Lorien, this "Extra Low Gravity" take on an Italian Pilsner-style lager presents an elegant sensory profile far beyond standard commercial examples. Bright notes of lime, grapefruit, and lemon zest dance alongside distinctive herbal cues of black tea and lemongrass. A subtle thread of honeyed malt provides a delicate backbone, while a floral bouquet adds a sophisticated lift. It finishes incredibly crisp and dry, embodying a vibrant summer festival spirit with every effervescent, citrus-forward sip.
Appearance. Very pale straw color (2 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a bright white, frothy head that exhibits moderate retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a clean, neutral fermentation profile. Pronounced hop character of lime zest, lemon, and a distinctive herbal quality reminiscent of black tea and lemongrass. Low grainy-sweet malt aroma with a faint hint of honey and tropical pineapple.
Taste. Crisp and refreshing initial impression with a relatively neutral palate. Low grainy malt flavor is secondary to bright citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon peel. The Lorien hops provide a unique herbal and floral complexity. Bitterness is low to medium-low but accentuated by high carbonation. Finishes very dry and clean with a short, citrusy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light-bodied with a very high carbonation level that produces a sharp, refreshing carbonic bite. No alcohol warmth is perceived; very smooth with zero astringency.
