American IPA 7 º
Twisting Bines is a classic West Coast-style American IPA that showcases a vibrant, resinous profile. The aroma is led by Citra and Cascade, providing punchy grapefruit and floral notes, while Simcoe adds a distinct layer of forest pine. This is complemented by the stone fruit and tropical depth of Citiva and Sticky Fingers hops. A clean, pale malt backbone supports a firm, assertive bitterness that cuts through the palate, finishing crisp and dry. At 7% ABV, it balances moderate warmth with a bright, hop-forward character that remains focused on clarity and a sharp, refreshing finish.
Appearance. Brilliant clarity with a pale gold to deep yellow hue. Topped by a dense, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit and lemon zest. Deep resinous pine and woodsy notes emerge as it warms, alongside subtle peach and apricot esters. Malt character is low and clean, reminiscent of crackery grain.
Taste. Flavor is dominated by hop-derived citrus peel and sticky resin. A firm, medium-high bitterness provides a clean, sharp structure. Moderate flavors of tropical fruit and pine lead into a very dry, crisp finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Malt provides a light, grainy foundation without significant sweetness or caramel.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily hop texture. Carbonation is medium-high, adding to the crispness. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at 7% ABV.
