This collaborative Hazy Double India Pale Ale showcases a masterclass in hop saturation, merging the expertise of WeldWerks, Cerebral, and New Image. The sensory experience is dominated by an intense tropical and stone fruit melange driven by a complex hop blend. Bright notes of candy-like watermelon from El Dorado and zesty lime from Motueka lead the charge, while Rakau SubZero Hop Kief and Idaho 7 provide deep layers of apricot and resinous pine. Mosaic 702 adds a distinct blueberry and mango punch. Despite its 8.4% ABV, the beer remains remarkably smooth, balancing a soft, creamy texture with a clean, dry finish.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (6-8 SRM); opaque with a significant haze. Thick, creamy white head with excellent persistence and dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with dominant notes of pineapple, mango, and lime zest. Underlying layers of stone fruit (apricot, peach) and a subtle berry character. Low grainy malt sweetness and a hint of resinous pine; clean fermentation profile with no solventy alcohol.
Taste. Explosive hop flavors of tropical fruit salad and citrus candy. Initial impressions of sweet pear and melon transition into firm stone fruit and lime. Bitterness is moderate but soft, avoiding any harshness. The malt provides a clean, neutral, and supportive backbone. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering tropical and piney aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being hot or astringent.
