Starry Night is a decadent Sweet Stout that captures the essence of a confectionary treat through a rich tapestry of sensory cues. This WeldWerks creation leads with an indulgent aroma of milk chocolate and freshly toasted coconut. The inclusion of hazelnut provides a deep, praline-like complexity that intertwines seamlessly with the creamy sweetness provided by the milk sugar. On the palate, the roast character remains gentle, reminiscent of sweetened espresso rather than burnt grain, allowing the hazelnut and milk chocolate to remain front and center. It is a velvety, full-bodied experience where the adjuncts and base malts harmonize into a lingering, luxurious finish.

Appearance. Opaque black (SRM 40) with a dense, creamy, mocha-colored head that exhibits excellent persistence and leaves thick lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with dominant notes of milk chocolate, rich hazelnut, and sweet toasted coconut. A distinct cream-like sweetness from lactose is present, supported by mild coffee-like roasted grain and very low dark fruit esters.

Taste. Initial impression is sweet and chocolate-forward, featuring prominent milk chocolate and hazelnut spread flavors. The toasted coconut provides a nutty, tropical mid-palate layer. Low to moderate bitterness provides a necessary counterpoint to the high sweetness from milk sugar, while the finish is long and sweet with a lingering cocoa-nut aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally creamy with a luscious, coating texture. Carbonation is moderate to low. Very smooth with a faint, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
