Pop Queen is a quintessentially modern Hazy IPA from WeldWerks, showcasing a saturated, tropical profile driven by a powerhouse hop trio. The combination of Mosaic and Nectaron provides a vibrant foundation of overripe mango, passionfruit, and intense stone fruit, while the addition of Cryo Pop intensifies the aromatic punch with notes of sweet pineapple and citrus zest. A soft, pillowy malt backbone offers light bready support without distracting from the massive hop-forward juice character. The finish is remarkably smooth, with a restrained bitterness that highlights the lush fruit esters and rounded, opaque texture characteristic of the style.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4-6 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy glow but free of sediment or particulates. Features a dense, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with Nectaron-driven peach and nectarine, layered over Mosaic's signature blueberry and tropical papaya. The Cryo Pop blend adds a concentrated fruit punch sweetness and bright citrus. Malt is low, presenting as neutral dough or light crackers, supported by clean, fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is juicy and fruit-forward, featuring pineapple, passionfruit, and soft stone fruit. Nectaron contributes a distinct peach skin note while Mosaic brings mango and earthy berry. Bitterness is medium-low, providing soft structure without harshness. The finish is off-dry and clean with a lingering tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and exceptionally smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated, providing a gentle presence without any solvent-like harshness or astringency.
