Lumber Juice is a collaboration Hazy Double India Pale Ale that exudes a saturated, tropical fruit-forward profile. The inclusion of extra oats creates a remarkably soft, pillowy texture, while the addition of milk sugar provides a subtle, rounded sweetness that enhances the juicy character. On the palate, expect waves of mango, ripe passion fruit, and bright citrus notes that mask the substantial ABV. The finish is smooth and low in bitterness, emphasizing a lush, fruit-smoothie-like experience. Appearance. Deep gold with a vibrant orange hue (SRM 5-6). Opaque and heavily hazy with a brilliant shine. Forms a thick, rocky, white meringue-like head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex bouquet of tropical fruit, including mango, guava, and pineapple, alongside zesty citrus. A creamy, lightly bready malt backbone from the oats is present, with no caramel or toast. Clean fermentation with minimal esters.
Taste. Massive fruity hop flavors of stone fruit and citrus dominate the initial impression. Low to moderate bitterness is well-integrated and softened by the milk sugar and oats. Finishes with a lingering tropical sweetness that remains clean rather than cloying, with no harsh hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a distinctly soft, pillowy, and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, with no astringency or raw starch texture.
