Welde Braumanufaktur Citra Helles
This modern interpretation of a Munich Helles marries traditional German craftsmanship with the vibrant profile of American Citra hops. A base of grainy-sweet malt provides a smooth foundation, evoking notes of wild honey and fresh bread. The dry-hopping process elevates the sensory experience, introducing a bright intensity of fresh lemon and lime that cuts through the malt richness. Despite the citrus-forward aromatics, the beer maintains its lager soul with a clean fermentation profile and a rounded, soft mouthfeel. It finishes with a delicate, subtle bitterness and a clean, dry tail, making it an exceptionally refreshing contemporary lager.
Appearance. Pale gold (SRM 4). Brilliant clarity with a persistent, creamy white head and fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderate grainy-sweet malt aroma. High citrus hop character from Citra, featuring prominent lemon and lime zest. Clean fermentation profile with no yeast-derived esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression of grainy malt and wild honey sweetness. Hop flavors are dominated by lemon and lime. Low to medium-low bitterness provides a gentle counterpoint to the malt. The finish is soft and dry with a lingering citrus note.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-lagered character. Moderate carbonation. Very low alcohol warmth, staying clean and refreshing.
