Appearance. Jet black (35-40 SRM) with a large, persistent light-brown head and excellent lacing. Opaque.
Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Distinctive resinous and piney spruce tip character provides a unique evergreen layer. Sweet notes of toasted marshmallows and chocolate-coated cashews complement the roast, with low fruity esters and a light, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression of intense bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee beans. The mid-palate reveals rich flavors of candied nuts and chocolate-coated cashews, supported by a moderate malt sweetness. Firm bitterness is enhanced by a resinous, slightly citrusy spruce tip flavor. The finish is medium-dry, leaving a lingering toasted marshmallow and charcoal-like roast character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, smooth texture. Medium-high carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with its 7.1% ABV. A light, pleasant roast-derived astringency adds structure without becoming harsh.
