Appearance. Jet black (SRM 40) and opaque. Pours with a large, persistent light-tan head that leaves dense lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate to high roast intensity with prominent notes of dark chocolate and roasted coffee. The Sabro hops contribute a unique, moderate aroma of coconut, cedar, and tropical fruit, layered over faint esters and a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is dominated by bittersweet chocolate and toasted grain. The malt flavor is rich, supported by the Chocolate malt, while the Sabro hops provide a fruity counterpoint of coconut and stone fruit. Bitterness is moderate to firm, providing balance without being harsh. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering creamy cocoa character.
