This American Barleywine offers a complex sensory experience, deepened by a year of maturation in French oak wine barrels and further conditioned with whiskey oak chips. The foundation of imported base malts provides a sturdy, bready backbone with a rich sweetness that stands up to the assertive noble hop bitterness. The aging process infuses the beer with distinctive woody notes, blending subtle vinous tannins from the wine cask with the toasted character of whiskey-soaked wood. Resinous and floral hop cues weave through moderate fruity esters, while the 10% ABV provides a refined, warming presence, creating a powerful and contemplative sipping experience.
