Waitoa Beer Sipstream
Waitoa Sipstream pours with the quintessential ‘shine’ of a modern Hazy IPA, delivering an immediate wave of tropical intensity. The sensory profile is headlined by Simcoe, providing lush notes of passionfruit and ripe mango, while the distinctive New Zealand duo of Wakatū and Motueka introduces a bright, zesty lime character. This citrus lift cuts through the soft, bready malt base, creating a refreshing and approachable experience. At 6% ABV, the balance favors a juicy fruit expression over bitterness, resulting in a smooth, pillowy mouthfeel that transitions into a clean, fruit-forward finish that invites another sip.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4-5 SRM). Thick, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing. Opaque and hazy with a characteristic glow; free of visible particulates.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by passionfruit and pineapple from Simcoe, accented by a distinct lime zest and citrus peel character from Wakatū and Motueka. Low bready, grainy-sweet malt in the background; clean fermentation profile.
Taste. High hop flavor featuring tropical juice and lime cordial. Malt flavor is low and bready, providing a neutral canvas. Bitterness is low to medium-low, smooth and never sharp. Finishes off-dry and juicy with a lingering tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, pillowy texture and moderate carbonation. Very smooth mouthfeel with no harshness or astringency; negligible alcohol warmth at 6% ABV.
