Thunder Lizard is an assertive Double IPA that showcases an explosive sensory profile driven by Idaho 7 Cryo, Cashmere Cryo, and hand-selected Citra hops. The initial impact is a saturated burst of tropical mango and zesty grapefruit, transitioning into nuanced layers of sweet melon and lime peel. A lean malt backbone provides just enough structure to support the intense hop saturation without adding heaviness. At 9.2% ABV, it presents a smooth, warming glow that carries notes of resinous pine and stone fruit through a clean, dry finish. This is a sophisticated study in modern hop intensity, balancing aggressive bitterness with refined fruit complexity.

Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper color (SRM 7-10) with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head and excellent lacing. Clarity is mostly clear with a very slight hop-induced haze.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit, pineapple, and resinous pine. Secondary notes of lime and honeydew melon emerge alongside a subtle stone fruit character. The malt is supportive and clean with a neutral, grainy profile, accompanied by a light, smooth alcohol presence and no significant yeast esters.

Taste. Strong hop flavors of citrus zest and tropical fruit lead into a firm, moderately high bitterness. The malt character is low and unobtrusive, providing a soft bready foundation without residual sweetness. The palate features layers of melon and pine that linger into a very dry, clean finish with a lasting hoppy and bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture from the high hop concentration. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite that enhances the dry finish. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present without being hot or solventy.
