Volfas Engelman Blanc is a refreshing and aromatic Witbier that captures the classic Belgian style with a bright, sensory-forward profile. It pours a very pale straw with a characteristic milky haze and a persistent white, moussy head. The aroma is dominated by zesty Curaçao orange peel and the perfumy, lemony snap of coriander, underpinned by a soft, bready maltiness from unmalted wheat. On the palate, it offers a crisp, effervescent experience where citrus and herbal spice are balanced by a subtle honey-like sweetness. The finish is remarkably clean and dry, making it an exceptionally drinkable summer ale.
Appearance. 2–4 SRM. Very pale straw to light yellow. Very cloudy with a milky, whitish-yellow haze from starch and yeast. Thick, white, moussy head with good retention.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring zesty, citrusy orange and perfumy-lemony coriander. Underlying moderate bready, grainy maltiness with light notes of honey and vanilla. Low spicy-herbal yeast character; hop aroma is absent.
Taste. Pleasant bready, grainy malt flavor with a hint of honey. Moderate zesty orange fruitiness and subtle herbal-spicy coriander. Hop bitterness is low, providing a refreshing balance without any harshness. Finish is refreshingly crisp and dry with a lingering citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. High carbonation creates a prickly, effervescent character. No perceived alcohol warmth or astringency.
