This Hazy IPA, a collaboration between Vocation and Attic Brew Co, presents a luminous, opaque appearance that signals its soft, pillowy texture. The aromatics are a vibrant explosion of tropical intensity, dominated by sharp passionfruit and tangy gooseberry. On the palate, a velvety, medium-full body carries a complex bouquet of juicy peach, bright citrus, and subtle strawberry. While the initial impression is fruit-forward and lush, the beer transitions into a sophisticated, intricately balanced finish characterized by refreshing notes of resinous pine and aromatic sweetgrass, providing a clean, slightly herbal counterpoint to the succulent stone fruit and berry profile.
Appearance. Light straw to golden with an orange hue; opaque and hazy with a characteristic shine. Features a thick, white, meringue-like head with excellent retention and substantial lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with tropical passionfruit and tart gooseberry. Supporting notes of ripe peach and sweet citrus follow. Malt character is low, presenting as clean, neutral graininess. Fermentation is clean with supportive fruity esters and no harsh phenols.
Taste. High fruity hop flavors of citrus and peach, followed by a unique strawberry note. Perceived bitterness is low to moderate and well-integrated. The mid-palate is soft and off-dry, concluding with distinct notes of resinous pine and herbal sweetgrass that provide a balanced, lingering finish without harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. It lacks any hop-derived astringency or acidic twang, providing a very approachable and rounded mouthfeel.
