Vocation Brewery Toucan Tropic
This vibrant American IPA delivers an intense, double dry-hopped sensory experience. Bold aromas of tropical mango and bright citrus driven by Galaxy and HBC 586 hops leap from the glass, balanced by a resinous, woody pine undertone from Simcoe. On the palate, a clean, pale malt backbone supports a wave of ripe passionfruit, grapefruit, and stone fruit flavors. A firm, refreshing bitterness cuts through the juicy sweetness, leading to a crisp, dry finish. It is a wonderfully modern, hop-forward showcase that perfectly balances intense fruitiness with a classic, resinous bite.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber with a slight, modern haze from extensive dry-hopping. It forms a thick, persistent white head that leaves dense, sticky lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit notes of mango and passionfruit, layered with citrus peel and a resinous, piney background. Low, clean, grainy-sweet maltiness supports the hops, while the fermentation profile remains exceptionally clean with no noticeable yeast esters.
Taste. An initial punch of sweet citrus and ripe tropical fruits, followed by a light, clean, supportive bready malt sweetness. Medium-high bitterness asserts itself quickly, balancing the juicy hop flavors. Finishes medium-dry to dry with a lingering, crisp bitterness and a clean, resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, slightly soft texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, with a very subtle, clean alcohol warmth and absolutely no hop-derived astringency.
