This Hazy IPA, crafted for the sun-drenched terraces of The Crown & Kettle, presents a vibrant sensory profile tailored for springtime refreshment. The experience begins with a radiant bouquet of guava and bright citrus, complemented by the delicate herbal nuance of lemon balm. On the palate, an initial wave of sweet, sticky tropical juice provides a lush opening, which is expertly balanced by grounded earthy and floral hop notes. While the body remains soft and approachable at its sessionable strength, the beer concludes with a notably clean bitter finish that ensures high drinkability and a refreshing aftertaste.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold with a dense, meringue-like white head that shows high retention and light lacing. The beer is characteristically hazy with a soft, opaque glow, free from visible particulates or yeast clumps.
Aroma. High intensity hop aromas dominate, led by tropical guava and zesty citrus. Secondary notes of lemon balm provide a light herbal lift. Behind the hops, a low, clean, grainy-sweet malt presence provides a neutral base, with no perceptible alcohol or fermentation byproducts.
Taste. The flavor profile leads with high-intensity tropical fruit and citrus. An initial sweetness suggestive of tropical juice transitions into more complex earthy and floral hop layers. Bitterness is moderate and clean, providing enough structure to balance the soft malt without lingering harshly. The finish is medium-dry and refreshing, avoiding any sharp or harsh edges.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, smooth texture typical of the style. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a refreshing character. There is no astringency or harshness, and the alcohol presence is negligible, providing no significant warmth.
