Solstice is a luminous Hazy IPA that radiates with a bright, tropical intensity designed to pierce through winter’s chill. A zesty hop profile takes center stage, featuring the punchy citrus and mango notes of Citra alongside the unique lime-zest and sweet melon character of Motueka. This combination creates a sunburst of flavor against a soft, grainy malt backdrop. The pour is characteristically opaque with a glowing sheen, offering an invitingly plush texture. Balanced by a restrained bitterness and a clean, fruity fermentation profile, it delivers a refreshing yet substantial experience that highlights modern hop biotransformation.
Appearance. Straw to light gold with a distinct, opaque haze that gives the beer a vibrant shine. It is topped by a dense, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with a burst of tropical passion fruit and mango from the Citra hops, followed by a sharp lime peel and honeydew melon fragrance from the Motueka. Background notes are clean and bready with a hint of sweet grain; no caramel or toast is present.
Taste. Massive fruity hop flavors mirror the aroma, showcasing succulent tropical fruit and zesty citrus. The malt provides a soft, bready foundation that supports the hops without competing. Bitterness is low to moderate and smooth, leading to an off-dry, juicy finish with a lingering suggestion of lime and stone fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the fruity lift. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no hop-derived harshness or astringency.
