Permanent Vacation is a bright, refreshing Low Alcohol Pale Ale crafted in the tradition of a crisp American Lager. Despite its ultra-low ABV, it presents a vibrant aromatic profile where a neutral, grainy malt base supports pronounced notes of summer citrus fruits. The influence of specialty malts provides just enough structure to avoid wateriness, while a heavy drop of hops delivers a refreshing citrus edge that transcends the typical lager profile. It finishes remarkably clean and dry, offering the thirst-quenching character of a classic lager with the aromatic intensity of a modern pale ale, resulting in a highly sessionable and crisp experience.
Appearance. Very pale straw color with brilliant clarity. Pours with a white, frothy head that has low persistence and leaves minimal lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Low malt aroma with a grainy and slightly sweet character. The hop aroma is more prominent than standard for the style, featuring moderate-low notes of summer citrus fruits over a very clean fermentation profile without esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Relatively neutral palate with a crisp, dry finish. Initial impressions of low grainy maltiness are quickly balanced by a moderately-low citrus hop flavor. Bitterness is low and well-integrated, leading to a clean, refreshing aftertaste that lacks any harshness or lingering sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Light-bodied with a very high level of carbonation, creating a distinct carbonic bite. There is no perceptible alcohol warmth, and the texture is clean with no astringency.
