Meow & Forever is a vibrant American Pale Ale that showcases a masterful blend of Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops. A collaboration with The Crown & Kettle, this 5.2% ale opens with a punchy bouquet of zesty lime and grapefruit, followed by a rush of mango and passionfruit. These expressive tropical notes are grounded by a subtle, earthy pine character and a lean, bready malt backbone. It finishes crisp and decidedly bitter, with a lingering floral resonance. This is a bright and balanced modern classic that prioritizes hop clarity and drinkability.
Appearance. Pale golden color (approx. 6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a moderately large, frothy white head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves intricate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of citrus peel, crushed pineapple, and ripe berries driven by Citra and Mosaic. A secondary layer of resinous pine and damp earth from Simcoe provides complexity. Low neutral, grainy maltiness supports the hops, while very light fruity fermentation esters complement the tropical character.
Taste. Initial hop-forward flavors of grapefruit, mango, and stone fruit dominate. The malt profile is clean and unobtrusive, providing a light toasted bread foundation. Firm hop bitterness (aligned with the 40-50 IBU range) is well-integrated, leading to a dry and crisp finish. Subtle floral and piney notes linger in the aftertaste without becoming harsh or resinous.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. Overall clean finish with no perceived alcohol warmth or astringency.
