A bright bouquet of tropical fruit leads the sensory experience, driven by a new wave of British hops grown in local soil. Harlequin and Olicana provide lush layers of mango and passionfruit, while Jester and Opus contribute sharp grapefruit and stone fruit accents like peach. These contemporary hop notes are anchored by a classic, light biscuit malt backbone that provides a clean, structural sweetness. The result is a crisp, assertive ale that maintains the firm bitterness and dry finish characteristic of the style while showcasing a uniquely British citrus and tropical terroir.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber; excellent clarity with a slight haze from dry-hopping; moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring modern tropical notes of mango, passionfruit, and peach. Zesty grapefruit and light floral esters are supported by a medium-low bready and biscuity malt character.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impact of citrus peel and stone fruit. Medium-low malt flavor provides a supportive biscuit sweetness. Hop bitterness is assertive and firm, balancing the fruity esters. The finish is medium-dry to dry with a lingering, clean bitterness and a hint of mineral character.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-attenuated texture. Moderate to medium-high carbonation contributes to a crisp, refreshing sensation. A low, smooth alcohol warmth is present and well-integrated.
