Highlighting Vocation’s signature punchy hop usage, the experience is dominated by layers of juicy citrus—specifically bright grapefruit and zesty lime—driven by the prominent use of Citra and Simcoe hops. A lean, supportive malt base allows the hops to shine without the heaviness of a barleywine. The mouthfeel is smooth and moderately full, hiding its 7.6% strength behind a wave of tropical fruit and resinous pine. A firm, clean bitterness lingers on a dry finish, emphasizing the classic West Coast-inspired intensity within a modern, fruit-forward framework.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (8-10 SRM). Clear to slightly hazy with a large, persistent off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit, tangerine, and resinous pine. A light tropical note of mango is present. The malt is neutral and supportive with a hint of clean, grainy sweetness. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of juicy citrus and tropical fruit. Hop flavors of orange peel and pine are dominant.
