This celebratory American Stout pours like liquid cake, offering a decadent sensory experience defined by a rich, velvety chocolate malt foundation. The nose is greeted by high-intensity layers of warm vanilla and sticky caramel, reminiscent of a freshly baked confection. Vibrant notes of blueberry and a subtle cherry top provide a bright, fruity counterpoint to the deep roasted coffee and dark chocolate aromatics. On the palate, the sweetness of the caramel and vanilla is balanced by a moderate hop bitterness, while the luscious, full body ensures a smooth, dessert-like finish that lingers with the tart-sweet essence of forest fruits.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Topped with a dense, persistent, light tan head that leaves moderate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant notes of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans. Strong accents of warm vanilla and buttery caramel are layered over fruity esters of ripe blueberry and sweet cherry. Hop aroma is very low, allowing the dessert-like adjuncts to lead.
Taste. Initial impression of sweet milk chocolate and rich caramel. The mid-palate introduces a tart blueberry character and a hint of cherry. Moderate bitterness balances the sticky sweetness, leading to a finish that is slightly roasted but smooth. Low hop flavor, primarily earthy or resinous but mostly obscured by adjuncts.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a creamy, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. Despite the session-strength ABV, it possesses a substantial presence without any significant alcohol warmth or harsh astringency.
