This Hazy IPA offers a saturated, juice-like experience characteristic of Vitamin Sea’s modern approach. On the nose, intense waves of tropical mango and mixed berries arise from the heavy use of Mosaic, while Callista contributes delicate nuances of ripe apricot and soft peach. The palate is defined by a lush, velvety texture that carries flavors of pulpy citrus and stone fruit, supported by a subtle, bready malt backbone. A restrained bitterness ensures a smooth, approachable finish, highlighting the biotransformation of hop oils. At 6.9% ABV, it provides a well-integrated warmth that complements the beer’s dense fruit profile.
Appearance. Ranging from straw to a deep glowing gold with a dense, opaque haze. Topped by a persistent, rocky, meringue-like white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with tropical mango, blueberry, and passionfruit from the Mosaic hops, intertwined with the stone fruit and raspberry notes of Callista. A clean, doughy, and lightly bready malt presence provides a neutral base, while yeast esters contribute subtle pear and peach notes.
Taste. Vibrant flavors of orange juice, apricot, and pineapple dominate the initial impression. The Mosaic hops provide a complex berry and tropical layer, while Callista adds a floral, stone-fruit sweetness. Malt character is low and crackery. Bitterness is low to moderate, perceived as soft and integrated rather than sharp. The finish is off-dry and exceptionally smooth with a lingering citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the drinkability. There is a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth but no astringency or harsh hop burn.
