On the nose, it delivers an intense bouquet of fresh orange peel and grapefruit, which evolves into resinous pine and a characteristic dankness. The palate is met with a firm, assertive bitterness that cuts through the toasted malt sweetness, resulting in a balanced yet hop-forward experience. Appearance. Deep amber with a distinct reddish-copper hue; clear to brilliant clarity with a medium-sized, off-white head that shows good persistence and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit, orange peel, and resinous pine. Subtle background notes of dank earth and spice are present. Supporting the hops is a medium-low malt character suggestive of toffee and caramel. Fermentation is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. The flavor is hop-dominant with notes of citrus zest, pine resin, and a dank, herbal quality. A medium-low malt presence brings flavors of toffee and light caramel, providing a necessary counterpoint to the high hop bitterness. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering, clean bitterness and hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly resinous texture. Carbonation is medium-high. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its 7% ABV, but without any harshness.
